Brian Bartels graduated from Blackhawk Technical College in 1993 with a vocational degree in Electric Power Distribution. He joined Alliant Energy as a Line Technician Apprentice, and has worked at Alliant Energy for 21 years. Brian has held many different titles from Line Technician, Lead Technician and now is Manager of Customer Operations. Today he oversees the gas and electric operations for Beaver Dam. Responsibilities include managing the construction, operations and customer service for this market. Brian is also on the Board of Directors for The United Way of Dodge County, and serves on the Electrical Power Distribution Advisory Committee for the Moraine Technical College.

Brian Bartels graduated from high school and was accepted to the UW Madison School of Engineering. At the last minute Brian decided that wasn’t his path, and found a job with a utility subcontractor. After a few years working with the utilities, he decided a line technician was his true calling. Fast forward to today, and Brian now manages projects that include subcontractors.
