Richard (RJ) Logan has worked with his business partners Travis, Dustin, and Aaron from the start of his electrical career. Starting as a Material Handler in 1999, he worked his way through the Apprenticeship Program and became a Residential Wireman in 2003. RJ was clearly on the fast track to success in the field and was quickly promoted to Project Manager in 2006. His desire for great customer service, quality work, and values based business practices, drove him to obtain his Master Electrician License. Both he and Travis have the desire to bring their own personal touches into business ownership. The desire to interact with customers is what they felt would set them apart from their competition. RJ can be found working on job sites (where he is most happy), meeting with customers, preparing estimates and working on day to day business operations. Light is essential for day to day operations and RJ enjoys turning that daily necessity into something that is pleasing to the eye and to transform people’s homes into a more comfortable, better lit, better functioning space. He has a special place in his heart for older, historic homes. He loves to be able to preserve the integrity and character of an older home while also providing all of the modern conveniences technology has brought to us. RJ is also our resident expert in knob and tube rewiring. RJ feels that it is important to be a part of the communities and organizations in which you work. RJ is a member of the Broadhead Jaycees, NARI, and has been a volunteer for Hammer with a Heart, Habitat for Humanity, and Aaron’s House. His training includes completion of MATC (Madison College) Apprentice Program, Lead Certified, IBEW-NECA joint apprenticeship training, over 12 years hands on experience.

The road to becoming a Master Electrician is one that takes many hours of hands-on training, on-the-job experience and dedication to quality workmanship. RJ Logan began as an electrical apprentice in 1999 and through hard work has become a Master Electrician and co-owner of Design Electric of Madison specializing in lighting design, installation and remodeling. RJ takes students through the process of becoming an electrical apprentice, what to expect on the job and some of the long-term goals to consider for a career in electrical. (Running Time 22:46)
