Greg had been involved with the family’s business operations part-time since 2008 and in 2011, as the business continued to expand, he altered his plans to become a school principal and instead joined the team to help guide the family’s business. The Hedrichs run a large dairy goat operation in Northeast Wisconsin and use their milk to make award winning cheese and other dairy products. In the past three years LaClare Farms has won over 10 awards for their cheeses one being “Best of Show” at the United States Champion Cheese contest. The new facility is located just 12 miles from the current operation in Pipe, WI, on the eastern shores of Lake Winnebago. All of the young stock will stay at the current facility in Chilton and the new space will allow LaClare Farms to milk goats in the new milking barn and parlor. They will then be able to produce most dairy products, including private label custom products for others, and utilize any milk the customer wishes. The new facility also has the ability to then sell these products and many others in the retail area, cook made-to-order foods in the kitchen space. There will also be a courtyard for people to relax and enjoy the experience.
