Dan Fox currently works as a chef for The Heritage Tavern and also raising his own herd of heirloom pigs. After attending college for a few years, Dan knew the traditional route was not for him. He switched to culinary arts, attending Kendall College, a leading culinary school in Chicago, where he also did an internship at the prestigious Everest Restaurant. Dan also went on to train in France and Austria. For the past several years Dan has been focused on building the farmer and chef connection by using locally sourced products. He now finds himself wearing many hats including pig farmer and pork products producer as well as executive chef.

The culinary industry has seen a huge boost in popularity with the onslaught of cooking shows and contests in media today. Opportunities for careers can take you from farm to fork and everywhere in between. Dan Fox is working both sides of the spectrum; he’s been an executive chef in fine restaurants and is now an heirloom pig farmer, raising his own pork and living by the mantra of using local, farm fresh ingredients.
