Ann Wenzel is the Assistant Secretary, Associate General Counsel – a.k.a “a Lawyer” – for American Family Insurance in Madison, a position she has held since 2009. However, Ann has been with the company since 1997 first starting out as Assistant General Counsel and working her way through American Family in various capacities including participating in the startup of a new company for American Family where she worked on the “business” side of the house and did not give legal advice. She has been in management for most of her career. Prior to American Family, Ann worked for ten years as the General Counsel for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority and early in her career also worked as an attorney for Sentry Insurance A Mutual Company. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Arizona State University and returned to Wisconsin where she earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She is active on non-profit boards of directors and continues to create art in her spare time. She is a published photographer and has exhibited her work on a regular basis.
