Biography:
Paul Witke grew up and attended high school in Monroe, Wisconsin. He is a lifelong Wisconsin Badger fan despite living in Iowa Hawkeye country for 5 years. Although Paul always found work and business far more interesting than the classroom, he has degrees in accounting and finance from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Paul and his father Mark own and operate Zimmerman Cheese Inc in Wiota, Wisconsin (just outside of Monroe). Zimmerman Cheese was started in 1979 by Paul’s grandfather Werner Zimmerman and his children. Paul’s family has been producing cheese in Wisconsin since the 1930’s and they are now on their 4th generation of making cheese here in the United States after learning to make cheese in Switzerland. Growing up Paul worked in the packaging and production areas of the business. He was always drawn to the excitement of production where things are always changing and rarely boring. Paul now spends most of his time working on the continuous improvement of Zimmerman Cheese, including but not limited to: equipment troubleshooting/procurement, sales, human resources, process improvements, accounting/finance, etc. Paul likes to spend his free time with his girlfriend Rachel doing things like golfing, enjoying fantastic food, spending time with their Wheaten Terrier Darts, and volunteering for dog rescues. He has also been known to lose a few hours to a good video game from time to time.
